Series: A Personal Exodus
PROMISED LAND
Deuteronomy 3:23-28; Romans 3:23-26
The Exodus is the story of God’s people being delivered from Egypt at the same time it illustrates redemptive themes seen throughout Scripture.
The wanderings in the wilderness remind us of the already/not yet aspect of the believer’s life.
the promised land
The promised land represents future hope.
The people of Israel found a geographical, historical, communal, and spiritual hope in the promise of land.
In the New Testament, heaven is represented by the promised land.
Revelation 21:1-6

· A place of Restoration
· A place of Rejoicing
who gets in?
The vast majority of the Israelites were excluded from the promise land. Every such instance is the direct result of sinfulness.
Only through Christ can our sin be forgiven and heaven be obtained.

1. The hope of a “promised land” motivates our faithfulness.
2. The reality of our sin proves us unworthy to enter heaven.
3. Christ died so that we can be right with God and receive eternal life.
