Romans 12:1-16

The American way of thinking is harming the way Americans think about church.  

The Portrait of the New Testament… 

   is not a group of consumers.

   is not a crowd of spectators. 

   is not disconnected individuals.

         is a human body.

         is a family.

For as we have many members in one body, but all the members do not have the same function, so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another.

Romans 12:4-5

Characteristics of a Healthy Church 

A healthy church centers around Christ. 

What Does It Mean to Be “In Christ”?     

·      It is a status.  

·      It is a relationship.  

A healthy church recognizes individuality and diversity.

A healthy church is characterized by people who work for their church. 

Keys to Healthy Church Communities

·      Healthy church members develop over time.

·      Healthy church relationships are kept through covenants.
