Series: Life Change
Key Relationships
Proverbs 13:20
1/13/19
Personal relationships are the most common factor to life change.
God-influencing relationships are providential.
God uses people to build faith.
· Typically, God uses multiple people in your life to grow your faith.
Life can be negatively influenced by others.
· Some unhealthy relationships are unavoidable.
· WARNING: The gravitational pull of culture and life is generally down, not up.
Do not be deceived: “Bad company corrupts good morals.”
1 Corinthians 15:33
Biblical relationship counsel:
· Marry a believer.
Do not be mismatched with unbelievers. For what partnership is there between righteousness and lawlessness? Or what fellowship does light have with darkness? 15 What agreement does Christ have with Belial? Or what does a believer have in common with an unbeliever?
2 Corinthians 6:14-15
· Choose your counselors/teachers carefully.
The thoughts of the righteous are just,
but guidance from the wicked leads to deceit.
Proverbs 12:5
We need to utilize our healthy relationships for spiritual growth.
How happy is the man who does not follow the advice of the wicked
or take the path of sinners or join a group of mockers!
Psalm 1:1
The Bad News: You can’t create God meetings.
The Good News: You can put yourself in position to experience them.
Today’s Takeaway:
· Seek out someone to invest in.
· Pray for God to send you a faith influence.
· Intentionally seek out those who obviously are following Christ.
· Put yourself in places where you will be exposed to the right people.
· Surrender your life to the One who has changed others.
