Is God Enough? 

Haggai 2:1-9

God promises to bless faithful people.

Sometimes God blesses faith immediately, sometimes His blessings are delayed.

Context: 

Jewish captivesin Babylon were allowed to come back and rebuild the temple.   Immediately they complete the foundation, but for 16 years,the project stalled.   

The people werecursed because they were taking care of themselves and not honoring God.

Haggai challenged them to make God their #1 Priorityand they began restoring the temple.

Haggai 2 

• The people been working for 4 weekson the temple.

• They are to celebrate the harvest festival, but have nothing to offer.

•The older peopleare not impressed with their work.

Discouragementcan derail our efforts to serve God.  

The message of Haggai 2 ishold on, keep working, don’t be afraid!

why?   God is with you!

·God has delivered you in the past.

·God is in controlof history, the worlds and yours

·God has a planfor the future.

Don’t doubt in the darkwhat you know to be true in the light. 

the promise:  God offers people lasting peace.

Faithfulnessshould be our goal, regardless of circumstances.

God’s does not promise immediate or earthly blessing; but God does promise His Presence!
