What is contentment?

Philippians 4

The Philippian church was a financial partner with Paul.

After some time, they have renewed their support for him.

He expresses gratitude, but he wants to make sure they know their support is not his joy.

Contentment Facts

1.        People can be content regardless of what they are       facing. 

2.        Contentment is not dependent upon material    possessions.

·        A lack of contentment is often the result of comparison.

3.        Every Christian can learn to be content.

4.        There is one key to contentment:     Live for Jesus,                                                                                not you.

5.        Contentment is often a believer's most powerful           testimony.

Today's Takeaway

1.        Realize contentment has nothing to do with             circumstances.

2.        Make a list of everything you have that cannot be taken from you.   Live for these.

 3.       Acknowledge that you will never be content apart from   Jesus.

4.        Quit looking at what you have not been given, and start   giving thanks for what you have been given.
