Genesis 39:1-23

·      Human beings are slaves to sin. 

·      Only Christ’s death can set us free. 

·      Through faith in Him, we are free from bondage and have the potential to live a holy life.

·      Our success or failure in temptation does not change God’s love for us.  

·      Because God loves us, we desire to be faithful in temptation. 

No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to humanity. God is faithful, and He will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation He will also provide a way of escape so that you are able to bear it.

In spite of Joseph’s hardships, God had positioned Joseph for success. 

Joseph was successful because the Lord was with him.    

Joseph worked hard.

·      Often temptation is the strongest after moments of success.  

·      Strong believers are tempted as much or more than anyone. 

·      Strong temptations do not die quickly.

·      he said “no”

·      he avoided compromising situations as much as possible
