Series: A Personal Exodus

Deliverance

Exodus 6-12: Revelation 1:5-6

recap

The exodus not only tells the story of the people of Israel being delivered from slavery to the promise land, it also illustrates redemptive themes applicable to all the people of God, in all places at all times.

Just as the people of Israel were trapped in bondage in Egypt, Jesus taught that all people who commit sins are enslaved by sin.

Deliverance

Deliverance is for God’s glory

God’s plan will always be met with resistance.

Deliverance depends on the ability of God.

These events were not only punitive, they were instructive.

The plagues represent a systematic takedown of the security systems of Egypt, and a revelation of human frailty.

Sovereignty and personal responsibility are not enemies;

however, how they work together is a part of the mystery.

All people harden their hearts; death is the deserved outcome for us all.

Deliverance requires atonement.

Jesus is the perfect Passover lamb.

Today’s Takeaways:

1.    Praise God that He sent Jesus is the Atoning Sacrifice to for you.

2.    Acknowledge and repent of your sin, and put your trust in Christ today.
