Shawn James

Alan sat down with Shawn James at the Sunstroke House before his show that evening. Shawn opened up the show with 'Orpheus'. Shawn was born and raised in Chicago and his musical influence came from growing up in a Pentecostal church. From Chicago, Shawn went to Orlando to study Sound Engineering at Full Sail, and landed in Nashville. It was along that time he wrote, 'Flow' when the pressures of life was pressing on him. During his time in Nashville, he found his way in songwriting, and began building his repertoire. As life further unfolded for him he would spend more time in Chicago with family before moving to Fayetteville. The music scene was perfect for him, and he pieced together his band, the Shapeshifters. YouTube videos led him to going viral, and his music was featured on HBO's 'Shameless' and later PlayStation's 'The Last of Us'.
