THINGS FOR THE JOURNEY: 28th Sunday OTB

The readings today remind us that God knows us and knows everything about us, even our secret emotions and thoughts. But that God is always seeking to love us and to help us grow closer to Him. The readings invite us to be purified and to let go of all that is not truly worthy of Him and to let go of all that might impede that love within us: the jealousy, anger, lust, envy, greed, hate within us. 

We are invited to let go of all the things we don't need on this journey in order to embrace this infinite and unconditional love of God.  God is asking us to give up all the excesses of life we cling onto that weight us down. In fact Jesus is inviting us all to give up everything and follow him. 

Let us pray today for the grace to grow in our awareness of and acceptance of HIS love. That we will finally give up all for Him and to enter the Kingdom of heaven.
