Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
On this second week of Advent, the church invites us to celebrate the marvels that God is about to work for us in a couple of weeks from now. As we wait in joyful hope for the “Day of the Lord” when this marvel will be complete for, and in us let us ask ourselves this question? Am a people of joy and hope? If the answer is no? How do we awaken enthusiasm, hope and joy in my faith?
The voices we hear in all the readings of this Sunday encourage us yobbe people of hope and joy as we prepare to receive the coming despite the circumstances.
Let us pray today, that our God who is a God of power and mercy, will open our hearts to welcome Christ. We ask Him to remove all the things which hinder us from receiving Christ with joy so that we to make room for God, make time for prayer, and hear the word of God with joy in our hearts. Amen
