Brothers and Sisters in Christ, today, we celebrate the Feast of the Baptism of Jesus our Saviour marking the end of the Christmas season and the beginning of Ordinary time.
The feast of the Baptism of our Lord serves to remind us of our own Baptisms, compelling us to renew the promises our parents and godparents made on our behalf, when they presented us to the Church, to make of us disciples of Jesus.
As Jesus annonnces his mission to draw us to the father, we too are reminded of our mission as sons and daughters of the father by virtue of our baptism to draw others to the Father by our way of life and witness to the good news of the gospel. Amen.
