Luke 12:22–32 (NRSV, abridged)
Jesus said, “Do not worry about your life, what you will eat,
or about your body, what you will wear.
For life is more than food, and the body more than clothing.
Consider the ravens: they neither sow nor reap,
they have neither storehouse nor barn,
and yet God feeds them.
Of how much more value are you than the birds!
Can any of you by worrying add a single hour to your span of life?
Consider the lilies, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin;
yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory
was not clothed like one of these.
Do not be afraid, little flock,
for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.
Even the lilies are held—
so I will rest in the care of God.
Kahlil Gibran, from *The Prophet*
Rest in reason. Move in passion.
Go to your fields and your gardens,
and you shall learn that it is the pleasure of the bee
to gather honey of the flower,
but it is also the pleasure of the flower
to yield its honey to the bee.
For to the bee, a flower is a fountain of life,
And to the flower, a bee is a messenger of love.
