Dear Listeners, I gotta be honest with ya. I was so struck by my admiration and joy at having Leslie in front of me, I forgot every clever thing I was hoping to dazzle with. Hopefully through the magic of editing, I still remain your stalwart just-some-sorta-guy and not just a blushing fan. Leslie and I talk about the presence of media in her writing and how it has carried her though her life, no matter what her teachers had to say. We touch on early 90s comics purchases in small Midwest shops, the shady aisles we had to stalk to get even the worst dub of our latest anime treasure, and our (perhaps inappropriate) fanfic educations as the age of the internet took hold. To be a writer you must write, belief follows action, which is a true (rude) statement that I am obligated to pass on. Do not abandon childhood things, they have made up vital parts of our inner mythology; they cannot and should not be discounted. Leslie is gracious, thoughtful and one of my favorite writers, you'll find yourself blushing too. All her contacts below as per.
