After being crowned 11th in the European Central Open, you'd be forgiven for thinking it all comes easily for Crossfit athlete Emelye Dwyer. What you might not know are the hurdles she has over come to make it to where she is today.
We talk about Emelye’s not so simple journey, the pressure (& fun) of regionals, her recent diagnosis of autism, how she wants to use her experiences of body image & mental health to help others and finally how CrossFit has given her a whole new set of goals to chase. She’s basically Wonder Woman!
Having grown up in a dancer's world Emelye found herself fighting with an eating disorder that left her hospitalised. Her determination not to "let that be her excuse" has lead her to a life, in her own words, she wouldn't have then dreamed of, competing in Crossfit amongst Britain's elite.
This is one seriously inspirational lady.
