Want to a start a podcast but don't feel that you're ready to be seen or heard? Worried that you don't have enough expertise in your field?
These are totally normal feelings that many people experience, including Crystal Wong from the Melbourne Schools Podcast.
Although Crystal had built a highly successful community and website around her passion for education. Her fear was holding her back from connecting with people through a podcast.
Crystal tells Nat from Pod and Pen Productions about how she found the courage to make the podcast of her dreams.
Take aways:
* Fear of being seen, heard or not being an expert can hold you back from making a podcast. Even if you have a passion and a drive to make one.
Crystal tells Nat, "who am I to start a podcast? I'm just a regular parent. I'm not in the education scene. I'm just trying to pick a school for my own daughter".
*The fear of making a podcast is worse than the process of actually doing it.
Crystal says "doing the thing is actually really not that bad now"
*Getting guidance and support can help you overcome the fear that is unnecessarily holding you back from sharing your unique voice.
As Crystal says when asked about the advice she give her former self: "you should have just done it!"
