Kelley Meister and Amie Stewart of Meister Stewart Partners rank in the top 0.5% of realtors in Washington state. Joining forces after each had been in different careers and then had switched tracks to real estate, "really helped our business thrive."
In this conversation with Scout's Jennifer Nelson, they discuss how leveraging their individual strengths allowed them to not only build the business but also be less fearful about taking chances and going after big listings. They showed up for each other as least as much as they showed up for themselves, and it worked.
One great tip: Perception is critical in this business, so they keep up with weekly Tour Days, checking out local listings and making sure their cards are visible everywhere. Not only does this keep their name on top, they also see what others are doing to inform changes they might want to make to listings, and they are able to speak knowledgeably about the local listings.
Partnership is like a marriage, so if you're considering partnering, be sure you know you're a good match. Shared values, shared work ethic, and the ability to distinguish individual strengths and interests and merge them are critical.
