Photography Chat s.2 ep.43 Starla Dawn

I had a great time chatting with Starla. We got a little distracted at the start and talked about work for a bit but we did get into photo chat. We talked about the photo community and how awesome it is. Her kids and her practice and we got into our mutual love for Lomography. We were all over the map on this one and it was a real blast. "Starla Dawn is a freelance photographer new to Clarksville, TN moving here from sunny San Diego, CA. She was born in rural Kentucky and raised in Huntsville, AL but has had the privilege of living bi-coastally over the last decade.

Starla is a self-taught artist whose photographic work is an expression of her creativity as well as a reflection of those she works with. She hopes to showcase the many facets and dualities that are intrinsic to life. She believes everything is interesting and captivating when it's shown in the right light.

She specializes in events, behind-the-scenes documentary and is most known for her colorful 35mm double exposures. She is the winner of the 2015 Atlanta Raw Artists: Photographer of the Year, FotoWeekDC Fine Art Award 2016, and Ten and One: Annual Lomography Awards, Monochrome Award 2016."
