Christoph Seidl, Operatic Bass: "The voice is facing constant changes and also the roles do. If you leave roles for a couple months or years, they kind of develop themselves automatically. If you put them on the piano again and sing them through, its a totally different experience."
The Austrian bass Christoph Seidl is an ensemble member of the Oper Köln since 2022/23 after being in the Ensembles of Aalto Musiktheater Essen and Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz in Munich.
He started exploring the broad repertoire of Richard Wagner as Fafner in Rheingold with Concerto Köln under the baton of Kent Nagano in the Philharmonie Köln and Concertgebouw Amsterdam and sang also Fafner in Siegfried and Daland.
