The Physic - meaning medicinal - gardens are 35 years old and there was a celebration on Saturday 21 June.
Gardening expert and broadcaster Pippa Greenwood, and Petersfield's Mayor, Councillor Chris Paige, cut the ribbon and an all age crowd moved through, with music and singing from the era the Garden celebrates, an exhibition, children's activities and plenty of sunshine.
There was a special thanks for all volunteers and Head Gardener, John Wade Palmer.
As South East Water have appealed to people to save water Pippa, speaking to Mike Waddington, gave some advice for tending the garden in the heat.
