The Olympic Games don’t technically have Freshman but if they did, they'd look a lot like Grant Fisher and Chris Nilsen in Tokyo. These two young athletes took the opportunity of a “gap year” in the form of additional time afforded by the circumstances of the pandemic it turned it into Olympic glory. Now, both are the best Americans ever in their respective disciplines (5000m/10000m and pole vault). We also talk to true freshman Ania Keenan who is moving from California to NYC to pursue collegiate athletics and journalism at NYU.
