Fitness plateaus SUCK. We all experience them, and they're ALWAYS discouraging.
Whether your objective is to lose weight, put on muscle, increase your PR, get a faster mile, etc., you will eventually hit a plateau.
What is a plateau exactly? It's a period of time when you seem to stay completely stagnant. No progression, no regression, just a completely steady state.
This might sound fine on paper, but when you've been making progress every week and then all of the sudden you're stuck, it can feel like the end of the world.
There are 3 things that I remind myself of when this happens, and it ALWAYS provides me with the capability of pushing through that plateau. These are:
That's it. Simple. Not necessarily easy.
