17. Jamon Rivera

Jamon discussed with us how, if you lost your job, you should try to find the positive in this and  turn the hardship into a blessing.  He reminded us to never burn bridges with employers or contacts.  He gave us some very useful information on crafting an effective elevator speech.  His coaching for an in-person interview is to:

* be clear on why you want to work for this company 
* what can you bring to the company
* dress the part
* be on time

We also discussed how community activities can help you in your networking and enhancing skills.

Jamon believes it is important in your transition to be flexible, remember experience builds experience and put yourself in uncomfortable positions to help you grow.
