Welcome to the first episode of Park Date!

First I need to say a huge thank you to Lucia Scazzocchio, Luke Jones (do listen to his brilliant podcast https://southgirlproductionmusic.com/category/podcast-production/), Rosie Wilby (https://www.instagram.com/breakupmonologues/?hl=en) and Mae-Li Evans for encouragement, production support and advice. There would be no podcast without these people. THANKS GUYS.

Our first episode features a dead pigeon plus journalist, leather jacket brand ambassador, fellow blonde bombshell and travel addict Kate Wills. That's all you need to know.

Ok well the dead pigeon was not part of the plan but that's what you get when you're recording as live and on the fly (no more flying for that pigeon though). That's the idea of Park Date - not dead birds, but capturing a raw and authentic experience of just chatting and exploring as you do with friends or on an actual park date.

Kate is a great writer and great friend and you should read her book A Trip of One's Own, available now (https://www.amazon.co.uk/Trip-Ones-Own-heartbreak-travelling/dp/1788704304) and check out her journalism in The Evening Standard, Grazia and Fabulous Magazine. We talk about writing from and about the heart, and the female solo travel pioneers she tells the stories of in her book.

You can often find me and Kate swimming on the roof at Shoreditch House or hanging in Victoria Park with her cute daughter Blake and her husband Guy, who is much cooler than me. We are going to write a film together though, aren't we Guy? ;-)

Park Date is about mixing the silly with the serious so do listen out for the original comedy we're slotting in between and after the interviews (which are hopefully pretty funny themselves).

Do review, subscribe and like. Namecheck as many trees as possible in your reviews and make them as surreal as possible - I have a very nice prize to give out to the writer of the funniest review at the end of Season 1.
