In this lesson of Sūrah Yūsuf (63–68), Shaykh Dr. Aḥsan Ḥanīf explains how Yūsuf’s brothers return to Yaʿqūb عليه السلام with the demand to send their youngest brother back to Egypt to secure more provisions. Yaʿqūb, recalling the loss of Yūsuf, hesitates but eventually agrees after taking a solemn oath from them, placing his trust in Allāh as the ultimate Guardian. He advises his sons to enter Egypt through separate gates, not as a means to escape divine decree, but to act with wisdom while knowing that only Allāh’s will prevails. This passage highlights reliance upon Allāh, the balance between precaution and trust, and the deep insight of a prophet guided by divine knowledge.
