What does the rich man in Luke 12 wrongly have in common with the rich young man in Matthew 19? They both relied heavily on their resources and wealth. For Jesus is issue at hand is not "wealth", but rather the heart. Be wealthy but have your confidence in God, who lavishly provides His people with everything for their enjoyment. There is nothing wrong with acquiring earthly and heavenly treasures, the question is, where will your heart settle?
