In this episode we shall answer the question, “what are the two decisions you can make right now that will have a remarkable impact on your business and career growth?”. These questions come in the light of you developing your own success system. So, we shall discuss two key decisions that could enhance your business and career growth in the light of developing your success system.
The first question we want to answer is “what disciplined action can you take right now that will have a massive impact on your career and business outcome in the short, medium, and long term? The decision of what disciplined action(s) that you can take, and it will have a massive impact on achieving one’s outcome is a major area successful individuals give their attention to. This way they are able to zero in on the task at hand. This is a little different from the decision of which goals to concentrate on. This is however the decision of the work it will take to accomplish those goals. It is the activities you must engage with and the hours of efforts that will be needed to deliver result in the particular area of goals that you are looking to achieve result.
The decision of the discipline actions you need to cultivate on the way to achieving your goals helps in developing the necessary routine that will take over and enable you to focus your decision-making energy on other things. For instance, when you decide to develop your communication skills; you decide the discipline required and you set that into some kind of scheduled plan. From that moment you commit to it and then make yourself do it. When that is repeated over a long period of time, it becomes part of your daily routine and then you wouldn’t necessarily need to wake up every day to decide to do that, the decision made ahead of time out of discipline, followed with action will take over and that become an auto-pilot activity eventually.
The late Kobe Bryant was being interviewed and was asked why he choose to train at 4:00 am in the morning, to which he responded that, that was what seems natural to him. When he further explains, it turned out that at some point he reckoned that the key to success is for him to put in more work into his training for his craft/ game than most other basket ballers would put in. For that to happen, he decided the discipline to put in place was to get up earlier that the rest at 4:00 for his practices, that way he could achieve the number of hours he has set for himself per day. once that decision of the discipline action required for his peak performance and success was set and follow for a protracted period, it became routine and that would aid him to his legendary fit. As you decide on what disciplined action to engage with in your desire to succeed and you follow through on that decision, you will be setting yourself up for perpetual success. Decide your disciplined routine today and that will determine your success tomorrow.
The second question we will answer as it relates to succeeding at you career or business is “what are you prepared to give up, if you want to grow and go up?” So, have you decided what you are prepared to give up in other to grow or go up?
If you will get to the top of the stairs; for every step you take, you give up the lower level in other to climb to the higher level. You cannot keep your foot on the lower rung of the ladder and hope to take possession of the next level. This is the law of climb. there is always something to give up in other to go and grow up. What this means is deciding ahead of time what sacrifices would be required to create the results you have set for yourself.
Jesus the master teacher of all times said, “except a corn of wheat fall to the ground and die, it will abide alone, but if it dies it will bring forth much fruit.” If you understand the way seeds germinate, you will appreciate the wisdom in this saying. Jesus
