Lesson Summary:

This week, we’ll turn our attention to Jacob. He’ll pick the prophetic mantle from his incredible brother Nephi. Jacob’s people are beginning to sin in two key areas: they are lifted up in pride and attempting to justify sin regarding the law of chastity. While their particular sins are unique to their time, the root causes and remedies are applicable to our day. Jacob invites us to shake ourselves from sin and reconcile our will to God.

On the creative side, we’ll be recapping some of Jacob’s critical teachings. First, we’ll create our own claw-machine grabbers to demonstrate the dangers of pride. Next, we’ll ignite invisible flames to open conversations about the Law of Chastity. Finally, we’ll experiment with Sharpie stains to help our kids appreciate the singular healing power of the Atonement of Jesus Christ.
