“The idea for this hymn came to me in 2018 when I was starting to prep for Christmas Eve services at church. I was struck by the fact that we will never be able to fully understand God's love for us. In a culture where we are a google away from most any information we want to know, not being able to fully comprehend the simplicity and extravagance of God's love can be unsettling.  It can be something that fuels our understanding of His holiness, that is, how He is set apart. We can only understand the tip of the iceberg, yet we have all of eternity to explore the depths of His compassion for us. In "O Mystery of Love Divine," I try to put that mystery into words by pinpointing hallmark moments in the gospel story that are beyond comprehension: God creating the universe with words, God becoming human, Jesus' sacrifice on the cross, Jesus' resurrection and invitation for salvation.” ~Bradley
