WHATEVER, Pt. 3—Whatever is Right

God’s eternal character is the foundation of how truth can be known. And how God acts, comes from that reality. God doesn’t randomly decide what is right based on His feelings, but what is right is naturally produced from who He is. God proclaims what is right, and that standard for moral beings—like humans—defines if a person is ‘righteous’ or not. We know what is ‘right’ because God is right (Ps. 19:8; Is. 45:19). While God can choose to interact in the cultural norms and customs of any particular time, what is ‘right’ never changes (i.e., murder, sexual standards, lying, worshiping other gods, etc. have been and will always be, sin). Also, because the Bible records people acting a certain way doesn’t mean Godapproves of it. God is consistently right, so we can be too!
