Who but the creator can determine the identity of the creation? Who but God can tell us who we are?
This week, Pastor Levi closes out our sermon series with a message titled The True You: A Servant. He reminds us that our identity as a servant brings about true freedom. In John 13, we see Jesus, fully aware of His authority and blessing from the Father, choose to serve by washing the feet of His disciples.
The Bible lets us know that the true manifestation of power is in serving. It is to be in connected and in community with His people. But how often are we closed-fisted, protective of what we call “mine”? In reality, Scripture reveals that every blessing from God was never meant to stop with one person, it was always intended for the many.
Society often convinces us that being a servant is beneath us. That we’re meant to take, to climb, and to build our own name. But if the Creator is the one who defines the creation, then we must look to Jesus to understand who we truly are. Reclaiming our identity as servants is the path to both fulfillment and freedom.
So this week, regardless of how loud the world gets, remind yourself that true leadership always begin with a servant’s heart.
