Jesus and the Light We Need

Are you leaning more into the truth of Jesus or the truth of the world?

This Sunday, Pastor Filmore reminded us that if we’re not walking in the light of Christ, we risk being deceived. John’s words encourage us to follow God and walk away from darkness, knowing that as Christians, there is no morally neutral ground. We’re either being drawn closer to Jesus or pulled away from Him.

Scripture tells us that Jesus is the light—not one of many, but the ultimate source of good, truth, and life. In a world that often exalts self and confuses darkness for light, we’re reminded that our hearts are not meant to be worshiped but led. The same God who spoke light into existence in Genesis now speaks through His Word to illuminate our lives.
