God Within Us

Do you feel unready, inadequate, or incompetent? Then rejoice! Our lack and weakness is where God’s ability picks up.

On this Day of Pentecost, Pastor Filmore reminds us of that powerful moment in Acts 2 where we see the beginning of the New Testament church — the wedding of Christ and the Church. Jesus tells us that He is leaving for our benefit, to leave with us a Helper who will empower our lives.

The world urges us to move only when we are sure, but God calls us to move because He is sure. We must not confuse certainty with the faith we truly need.

The power and presence of God do not require perfect conditions. You do not need all your feelings of fear or insecurity to go away; you need the Spirit of God to overshadow them.

As you reflect on this message, shift the posture of your heart from control and the need for certainty to faith and expectation.
