Atticus Roness is back for the second time on OTN. Only this time, it's to discuss the writing and recording process behind his debut solo album, 'Square One'.
Almost a year ago to the day, Atticus joined me to chat his band The Corduroy Blue's debut album release. Since their disbanding, Atticus has done a lot of soul searching and a lot of songwriting.
Taking a more stripped back approach to the instrumentation on this album, a la Elliot Smith, Atticus bares his soul across 14 tracks, expressing feelings of confusion, loss and hope for a better tomorrow.
We got to discuss his musical influences, working with Caleb Heiple of the Angelics, practicing restraint, the long lasting legacy of The Beatles, and much more!
