Ian Quinn: stunt performing on location

Veteran stunt co-ordinator and performer, Ian Quinn, tells Julian Newby how he insisted on taking a role in the movie Country Strong so that he could be on-set to protect its star Gwyneth Paltrow during a potentially dangerous scene. With decades in the business, his vast resumé includes Armageddon; the Hunger Games: Catching Fire; TV series Heroes; Star Trek: Insurrection; and TV series Heroes, Nashville and 24.  Here he talks about playing Sean Connery’s stunt double; how stunt work is ‘99.9% about safety’; and why the fatal accident on the set of the film Rust should never have happened.
