To commemorate Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary and the opening of Steakhouse 71 at the Contemporary Resort, we go over its offerings and the history of its former sister restaurant, Steakhouse 55 at the Disneyland Hotel. One can’t talk about Disneyland Hotel without diving into SOME history so we also discuss the past restaurants and bars of this storied hotel. Grab your “Monorail Red” cocktail and join us. Cheers!

Monorail Red Drink Recipe

A version of the drink is still served at the Top of the World restaurant at the Contemporary Resort at Walt Disney World. The original recipe calls for Lemon Bar Mix, similar to Sweet and Sour mix.

  • 1-1/4 oz Tequila
  • 3/4 oz Galliano
  • 3/4 oz Grenadine
  • 2-1/2 oz Lemon Bar Mix
  • 2 oz Pineapple Juice
  • Shake ingredients with ice. Strain into a collins glass filled with crushed ice and top with a maraschino cherry.
