In today’s episode, I chat with one of the most important faith leaders of our time Rev. Dr. Yvette Flunder. Bishop Flunder is a womanist and liberation theologian, justice warrior, and the presiding Bishop of The Fellowship of Affirming Ministries.  We chat about her roots in the Pentecostal church, the role of women in the black church, her endearing authenticity, her friend the legendary disco vocalist Sylvester, and her call to blend prophetic action, worship, and advocacy on behalf of those marginalized in church and society. We also discuss her appearance in the new PBS documentary film "The Black Church" and about the next chapter in the history of the black church and its role in the continuing struggle for equality and justice. Bishop Flunder is an inspirational figure driven by love and focused on justice as it emerges from the heart of God.
