Jacques only knew his father as a broken alcoholic, an old man with nothing; not the affluent man he used to be. Growing up in poverty, watching both his parents lose the battle against alcohol, this quiet, lonely child did the only thing he knew how: build walls. Emotional walls and eventually physical walls were what Jacques knew best, until one day when a man offered him a way out.
