What is the nature of Qualification? How does it relate to skill? By what measure were our ancestors deemed to be capable to take on a task? More importantly, what standard do we hold for each other in modern society when determining ability?
Our development as a culture has largely depended upon the spread of ideas and the increase in knowledge among the population. At a time when ideas can spread more rapidly than ever, and knowledge is more accessible than our predecessors could ever have imagined, our notions of gatekeeping have failed to adapt.
In this episode we explore the new dynamic brought about with the spread of information, and the access to expertise it makes possible. Perhaps a shakeup of established notions is warranted?
