A privilege this week on #NoSuggestionPod to get to know actor, activist, writer, Bronx native, and improv comedian, Joseph Elijah (@josephiselijah). Co-host Aston Hollins (@astonhollins) and I were so taken by Joseph's thoughtfulness and experiences, and we got to chat with him about everything from the reboots of Perry Mason and Matlock, how the Bronx doesn't offer itself up, algorithms and echo chambers, Joseph's revelatory experience during the Black Lives Matter protests, Barclays vs Madison Square Garden, going to college in Chicago, meeting Chopper City from Making the Band, Neil DeGrasse Tyson ruining Arrival, to how a smile saved his life.
We also do a bunch of very silly improv comedy with Joseph Elijah, including a scene where we come upon Noah doing another go 'round on the ark. Joseph Elijah is a sweet guy who's not afraid to go deep, be vulnerable, and we really have a very compelling conversation. Aston and I had a great time getting to know him, and we know you will too.
