Saga – Mary Eliza Mahoney

Mary Mahoney was the first black graduate from an American nursing school and a passionate advocate for the rights of black nurses, working to eliminate racial barriers and discrimination. She co-founded the National Association of Colored Graduate Nurses to support black nurses and promote inclusivity within the profession. Her pioneering spirit and dedication to women's rights earned her numerous honors, including induction into the ANA Hall of Fame and the National Women's Hall of Fame. Her legacy continues to inspire efforts towards equality and diversity in nursing.
