George McGovern was a United States Congressman, Senator, and Democratic presidential nominee, who lost the 1972 presidential election in a landslide to incumbent Richard Nixon.
McGovern was noted for his opposition to the Vietnam War, a legacy that has grown ever brighter as America struggles with it's military involvement in Iraq and Afghanistan.
On a visit to the University of nebraska-Lincoln, McGovern shared a few of his current perspectives with Rick Alloway.
