The press quickly drew comparisons to the Ripper slayings in London, sparking the question: Did the Ripper continue his reign of terror in the U.S.? And could the New York police have succeeded where their Whitechapel counterparts failed?
Finally, in today’s Further Particulars segment, we rewind to 1825 for a bizarre tale that proves why it’s never wise to cross a cat!
