Another week exploring Seminal Works. This week our three hosts, Keith Vincent, John Holt, and Mary Varn are joined again by Adam Moerder. Fair warning, we get a little loopy on this one (maybe it was the heat).
___________
Segment 1: Egon Schiele (Austrian Artist- Deceased)
Mary Varn (@maryvarn) has us take a look at an extremely influential painter from the turn-of-century (1900's). Extremely popular and controversial in his time, his work has widespread impact across all forms of visual media. Egon Schiele was a protege of Klimt. He was only 28 years old when he died, having already reached some success.
Here are some examples of comic artists and animation influenced by Schiele:
Ted McKeever-
Peter Chung-
You can find galleries of his work and information about Egon Schiele HERE.

Segment 2: "Yoshima battles the Pink Robots by The Flaming Lips (album)
Keith Vincent (earthlingkeith.com) brings us an album from the turn-of-the-century (2000's). The Flaming Lips' tenth album.
You can find Yoshima Battles the Pink Robots on Spotify, Rdio, Amazon, iTunes, and other places that carry albums-in-print!
