Matthew 5:3-10

Untouchable ARE the merciful.

God’s mercy is His goodness, kindness, faithfulness, beauty, zeal, and favor directed at us—who don’t deserve any of it.

Mercy is not only the absence of punishment we have earned, but the presence of the characteristics that personify God’s loving nature.

Great + Rich + Unfailing + Plenteous + Abundant + Sure + Everlasting + Tender + Fresh + Higher Than The Sky + All Over The Earth.

Mercy has nothing to do with worthiness.

Every Christian we meet is a person in whom Jesus lives; every lost soul we meet is a person for whom Jesus died. BOTH are perfect candidates for God’s Mercy.

Mercy is most empowering, liberating, and transformative when it is directed at the undeserving. The people who haven’t earned it, who haven’t even sought it, are the most meaningful recipients of our compassion. - Bryan Stevenson, Just Mercy

Untouchable ARE the pure in heart.

Pure Heart = Singleness of heart. An unmixed, undivided heart

Is what you are doing for Jesus taking priority over being with Jesus?

How will my daily plans change to include intentional time to be with Jesus?

You will see God in creation.

You will see God in your circumstances.

You will see God in His Word.

Untouchable ARE the peacemakers.

Peace means total well-being for the mind, heart, and body. It’s a creative force, and a peacemaker is a person who releases this creative force to change the world

1. The source of peace is God.

2. The enemy of peace is sin.

James 4:1,4

3. The minister of peace is the Christian.

Matthew 5:25 When you are on the way to court with your adversary, settle your differences quickly. Otherwise, your accuser may hand you over to the judge, who will hand you over to an officer, and you will be thrown into prison. And if that happens, you surely won’t be free again until you have paid the last penny.

If you are out to win an argument, you will never agree with your adversary, but if you are out to win a brother, you will begin by declaring peace, not war.

The quieting of the surface when the depths are still stormy is no lasting solution to the problem.

4. The outcome of peace is godliness.

Untouchable ARE those who are persecuted.

We reign

We rejoice

Matthew 5:12 Be happy about it! Be very glad! For a great reward awaits you in heaven. And remember the ancient prophets were persecuted in the same way.

We release love

Matthew 5:3-10 Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God. Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
