Galatians 5:22-23 The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control.
Actively Patient
When we check out, we miss out
James 1:2 My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, 3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience.
James 1:4 Let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.
1. Patience Isn’t Passive
James 1:2 Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3 because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. 4 Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.
2. Patience Produces A Product
I Corinthians 13:4 Love is patient and kind;
Patience is a pathway
James 1:4 But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.
Perfect = you look like the perfect one
Complete = made whole.
Lacking Nothing = you are blessed by God in such a way that you can be a blessing to others.
James 5:7 Be patient, then, brothers and sisters, until the Lord’s coming. See how the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop, patiently waiting for the autumn and spring rains. 8 You too be patient; strengthen your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is near. 9 Don’t grumble against one another, brothers and sisters, or you will be judged. The Judge is standing at the door!
To cultivate patience you must strengthen your heart

2. Don’t Complain
1 Corinthians 10:6 Now these things occurred as examples to keep us from setting our hearts on evil things as they did. 7 Do not be idolaters, as some of them were; 8 We should not commit sexual immorality, as some of them did— 9 We should not test Christ, as some of them did— 10 And do not grumble, as some of them did— 12 be careful that you don’t fall!
2 Corinthians 1:8-11 For we do not want you to be unaware, brothers, of the affliction we experienced in Asia. For we were so utterly burdened beyond our strength that we despaired of life itself. Indeed, we felt that we had received the sentence of death. But that was to make us rely not on ourselves but on God who raises the dead. He delivered us from such a deadly peril, and he will deliver us. On him we have set our hope that he will deliver us again. You also must help us by prayer, so that many will give thanks on our behalf for the blessing granted us through the prayers of many.
Psalm 22:3 God is enthroned on the praise of His people
Enthroned = a King begins His rule in that place.
Proverbs 13:3 He who guards his mouth preserves his life, but he who opens wide his lips shall have destruction.
