The King and His Kingdom: Matthew 1 Responsibility and Privilege

Matthew recorded not only Jesus's royal credentials, but also his divine lineage and prophetic heritage. Rather than let the story unfold and gradually reveal who Jesus really is, Matthew wanted his readers to know from the first page of his Gospel that Jesus is God the Son, Messiah. Why did Matthew write it this way? And what implications does this hold for you and me today?
