In an amazing passage in 1 John 4, the author of the letter, most likely the apostle John, describes the immense and awesome love of God toward us, summarised twice in the phrase "God is love". The effect of that love, and our proper response to it, are laid out before us. Of course, living it out is a life-long but glorious challenge!
