We are called to "walk in the light", just as Jesus is in the light - to expose our lives to the examination and the mercy of the God who is himself "Light". Here, the apostle John pulls no punches - even for believers, sin remains something to be overcome. But the blood of Jesus continually purifies us! Not so that we can keep on sinning - rather we are urged to outwork our knowledge of God through obedience and love.
