SERMON: Prophetic Witness: Speaking Truth to the Church

The American Church and Christians tend to grasp for control, thinking that this is the way we save the world. John the Baptist speaks truth to the religious powers of his day, calling them to repent of their various strategies to gain control and usher in the Kingdom.  We proclaim the good news from Matthew 3:1-12 that:

We don’t have to control the world to save the world! Jesus is Lord! We are free to consent to his power, rather than grasping for our own. He is already at work among us & ahead of us.
