Voice Actor Charles Martinet Will Still Perform Mario Voice for Fans, Despite Rumors

Charles Martinet, the original voice of Mario, has confirmed that he will continue to perform the character's iconic voice for fans at events and conventions.

This news comes after Nintendo's announcement that Martinet was stepping down from voicing Mario in future games to become an official "Mario Ambassador." At a Q&A session at GalaxyCon in Austin, a fan asked if he would still do the voice for them. Martinet responded with an enthusiastic "Yes!"

He explained that while the details of his new ambassador role are still being worked out, it will involve traveling and meeting fans, which he described as his "passion and joy." So, while a new actor will voice Mario in upcoming games, fans can still look forward to hearing Martinet's classic "Wahoo!" in person.
